Meet Our Staff
Steve Suders, Senior Pastor
Steve came to Williamsburg in October of 1989 and planted King's Way Church. He has an earned Doctorate of Ministries degree from Liberty Theological Seminary. As senior pastor, he is responsible to teach, shepherd and cast vision to help the congregation, as well as Greenwood Christian Academy, fulfill its mission. He is also charged with overseeing and coordinating the rest of the staff. Steve and his wife, Sheila, have four sons, Randy, Ricky, Reagan and Ryan.
Rich McDonough, Music Minister
Rich is a native of New York. He received his Music Education degree from the Crane School of Music at Potsdam State University. He became a Music Minister in 1984 for a church in upstate New York and spent 10 years there before moving to Williamsburg. He trains singers and musicians in the area of praise and worship as well as choirs of all ages for our seasonal Cantatas. Rich and his wife Robin have been married since 1983 and have 3 children - Rachel, Chris and Heidi.
Dan Reese, Associate Pastor
Dan has lived in Williamsburg for over 20 years and is an alumnus of Bruton High School and Christopher Newport University. He was a charter member of King's Way and served as interim youth leader in college. After several years as a manager and a corporate trainer in the insurance industry, Dan was called to minister full time to youth and college students. Dan and his wife Susan have 2 children--Paul and Laura.
Patricia Maxey, Children's Ministry Coordinator
Patricia is a native of Virginia and has lived in the Williamsburg area most of her life. She graduated from Longwood College with a degree in Home Economics Education. Patricia has dedicated over 15 years to teaching in two Christian schools, and has a passion to instruct children of all ages in the truths of God's Word. She has been married 31 years to her husband, Michael. They have two daughters, Leslie and Brooke, and a son-in-law, Joe. Patricia and Michael are thoroughly enjoying being 'Grandma and Grandpa' to their twin granddaughters.
Bob Scott, Minister of Visitation
Thirty-six years ago, Bob, his wife, Rachel, and their daughter, Leigh Anne moved to Williamsburg from Norfolk, VA. Bob has a true love for the Lord and for reaching out to those who are ill, have special needs, or have lost a loved one. Bob desires more than anything to continually be emptied of self and to be an instrument of God's love in the lives of others. Bob has a degree from Sherwood Conservatory in various areas of music and has had extensive studies in turf management through Virginia Tech and in horticulture through Penn State. Bob came to know Christ at age 12 and has since served Him for approximately 60 years. Bob says, "The Lord has been so good to me through the years, and I'm looking forward to more years of serving Him."
Carla Jones, Church Administrator
Carla is a graduate of Va Tech and has her bachelor's degree in Psychology. She has worked in administration for 28 years and has a heart for studying, memorizing, and teaching from God's Word. She has taught a number of Bible Study classes to the women of King's Way and has spent some time in teen leadership as well. She is actively engaged in discipling younger women and loves being a part of the Praise Team. She desires nothing more than to live a life which brings honor and glory to God.
